BaZi · Chinese Astrology
BaZi (literally "eight characters") is the classical Chinese system of astrology built from your birth time. Three pillars — Year, Month, Hour — each carrying a zodiac animal, an element (Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water), and a polarity (Yin or Yang). Together they reveal the energetic profile of your moment of arrival.
Twelve animals, five elements
Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, Pig — twelve animals on a 60-year cycle. Each combined with one of five elements (Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water) creating sixty unique combinations.
Elemental balance
After the cast, the reader sums up your elements: which dominate, which are missing or weak. The balance read as a synthesis points to where your nature already supports you and where to build.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to know my birth time?
Time is needed only for the Hour pillar. Without it you still get full Year and Month pillars. The system used here is Year/Month/Hour (no Day pillar — see notes for our specific implementation).
